3-Minute Fame Competition
Research getting right to the point

With “3-Minute Fame” The EU GREEN Alliance offers doctoral students the opportunity to present their research in an exciting and understandable way. The challenge is to do this in just three minutes and in front of a non-subject-specific audience. The event makes research visible, promotes the communication skills of young scientists and strengthens European exchange among young researchers.
What makes the competition special?
- Compact and engaging: Each participant has just three minutes to present their own research in a convincing and understandable way.
- European stage: After a local pre-selection at each EU GREEN university, the best entries will be made to the grand final as part of the PhD Summer School and Research Week Competed against each other at the University of Parma.
- Learn and connect: All finalistsStudents take part in the summer school, make international contacts and receive feedback from expertswithin and within the community.
Opportunities for doctoral students
The competition not only offers the opportunity to make scientific content available to a wide audience, but also to sharpen communication and presentation skills — crucial skills for career paths within and outside of science.
Awards and recognition
- The top three local entries from each university qualify for the European final.
- The winners of the final round will be presented on the EU GREEN Alliance's social media channels and websites.
- All participants who meet the competition rules receive an EU GREEN Alliance certificate.
Recurring highlight
The format is to be repeated yearly and is now an integral part of the activities of the EU GREEN Alliance. It shows how science can be brought to life and how young researchers are helping to shape the future with creativity and clarity.
